Certificate of Medical Necessity
Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN) A certificate required by centers for Medicare and Medicaid services to substantiate the medical necessity of an item of durable medical equipment furnished to a Medicare beneficiary. It is essentially a detailed prescription.
